I think that this World 50k by Communism is cool, but you can improve this:

1) Decrease power of USA, RUSSIA and EUROPE.
2) Increase power of CHINA (japan is most powerfull than China!)
3) Brazil and africa are weak, fix it for equal
4) Nukes could be more strong (missels and chemical weapons are alike nukes)

Just realizing that there is a bit of vast emptiness in this map that makes it hard to play without spamming Air Transports or staying along coastal areas and rivers when playing anywhere but the Northeast or California.

For the sake of having fun and playability concerns as a player starting in a not so densely populated area of the map, I was contemplating adding a ground transport unit that costed 350 and took 10 units 8 tiles since spamming Air Transports seem too inefficient and costly to be a sustainable solution to this problem.

Here's an illustration of this problem where moving infantry from Atlanta for example keeps you in Georgia and not fighting anyone else:


Here it doesn't seem to be too bad because of sea transports on the East Coast. It just feels weird letting people teleport but honestly Ancient is a really fun map and partially because of the tremendous amount of freedom on the map.


Wondering what others think about this. I want people to have fun no matter what country they pick on this map.

1. What's New

Hello everyone. Welcome to the 10th installment of the Asymmetric Warfare series. This release features the often underrated Drone. As in previous releases, players will only be able to build defensive units in turns 0 and 1. Units available to build on turns 0 and 1 include General Infantry, Bunkers, Anti-Aircraft Artillery units (AAA), Surface-to-Air missile units (SAM) and the Iron Dome anti-missile units. This gives all players a chance to set up before the game begins.

2. Featured Unit

This games featured unit is the underrated and often maligned Drone. The Drone is the quintessential asymmetric unit. With an attack value of 16, a movement range of 21 and a cost of just $75 per unit, the Drone is probably the most undervalued unit in Asymmetric Warfare. The Drone also has a universal build capability which makes it the weapon of choice for many third world countries with limited income.

3. Game Protocols

Please observe the following Game Protocols:
• Think before you post. Unsportsmanlike conduct, personal insults or harassment of other players, will result in you being banned from future games.
• Do not leave a game by timing out. If you have lost the game, surrender.
• Take your turn in a timely manner. Don't be the last player to take your turn every turn.

4. Game Settings

• Starting funds are $50,000.
• Capture the enemy country and hold it for two (2) turns
• Maximum number of initial territories that can be selected is one (1)
• Maximum number of allies is three (3)
• Maximum number of players is fifteen (15)
• Maximum number of turns is two hundred (200)
• Minimum rank is five (5)
• Turn duration is forty-eight (48) hours
• Allow joining until turn three (3)
• Sorry no rejoining.
• Game rule changes requires unanimous consent

sure but in atwar you NEED delay...

I would love to set up an EU 2v2 or 3v3 tournament with a full bracket and everything...how do i go about doing that and who would be interested?

This is an unpopular idea and one that many people would hate.

It's an idea to give those who want to casually play Model UN or Mock Trial a dedicated space free the critiques of competitive players and to more importantly signal to people who aren't familiar with and are new to AtWar that an RP community exists and there's a safe space to role play with other players without worrying so much about their performance or winning games because at the end of the day it's more about how the players feel when they play this game and not about who dominated who. We've already played that game many times over.

Certain players are bards and muses that can captivate wide audiences and giving them this small corner of AtWar where you're expected to role play and stay in character could appeal to a broader audience that doesn't want to play competitively but instead would love to play the D&D version of AtWar or a world leader's D&D. This would be more of a social room and server as a gateway to the full game.

As noted daily, this game is hard and unintuitive to pick up but what's not hard and unintuitive is roleplaying after work with a beer and your computer.


We don't even have to call this Role Play but currently the word casual means 48 hr turns.

Possible iteration of this:

• Role Play Room
  
• Enlist a few "Dungeon Masters" (maybe Game Masters). Give them some sort of Title/Badge and maybe a small Protocoin stipend to promote their own maps.
  
• Have them host weekly publicized events to reconsolidate this sector of the player base.
  
• Have a Role Playing leaderboard and give out awards like "best character performance" "best diplomat" "best politician" "best financier" "best player". (Basically promote players not just for their ability to win games but for their ability to do the intangibles that create a story around games).
  

I feel like what we need in this era is lore. We need a history. We need heroes. We need great politicians.

Any Twitch Streamers out there who stream AtWar that are fun and entertaining to watch on a consistent basis?

There seems to be a lot of Chess streamers even though Chess isn't the most entertaining game.

PC have been refunded. About the bug this one happens not very often but is rather annoying... not much I can do about it. That's a job for Dave.
