Deciding on getting a wolf/coyote

Sounds crazy but ive had experience in the past. my dad used to have 2 and they were very much like having a dog. these werent domesticated just raised since babies and very friendly even to strangers. so idk the laws because theyre strict now but should i get one like i said i got plenty of experience with the ones my family had and thinking of adopting one. anyone else an exotic pet owner?

However, more fatalities have occurred when wolves have been raised in captivity, as they lose their fear of humans. If you want to live dangerously, and don't mind most folks thinking you a bit strange, go for it. It likely won't hurt you unless you anger it.

I would prefer a fox.They so beautiful animals and quite calm

I love exotic animals personally my only advice I can give you is to look inside yourself. If you show fear doubt and cowerdic the animal will never see you as its alpha which that is what you want. From a young age you must hammer home that you are the alpha of the pack and it is the beta. Animals can sense this thing to. Not only must you display this to the animal it must be true, you must believe that you are stronger faster and more cunning then the animal or one day it will challenge you for dominence of the pack and that will end badly man. Iv had wolves, lynxes, tiger2, a monkey and a ireny Komodo dragon in my life. My family has always loved animals and it was tought from a young age you should respect them but do not fear them. They see things diferent then us and it's always about strength. Make sure your an alpha male or don't do it.

A Coywolf? Watched a documentary about them, really interesting. I'm not one to have or try to domesticate wild animals, let them be free is the way I feel, they are wild animals after all. That all said I did raise and have a Wolf mix dog it's entire life, 12 yrs. Mother was a Rott/Shepahard, father was a Wolf/Collie, and as Hell said above, you HAVE to be the alpha, no fear or forget it. But that said if you have that dominance established they are the most loyal animal in the world, only if you don't use abusive behavior to create the dominance, other wise it could go the other way. You have to be tough but tempered with love.
