I made a list of cool features proposed by the community as well as some I've thought of for the game. I made this thread simply because it makes the jobs of admins easier by looking through a quick list of ideas in one thread rather than trying to read and find some scattered all over the forum. This way ideas won't go missing or never be looked at.

I'll list every idea by number, with their respective links if they have one, and the name of the person who came up with the idea. If anyone wishes their ideas posted in this thread simply say so in a comment or by pm, I'll revise it and add it if it would do well for the game. Or again, simply discuss your ideas and others will point out what works and what doesn't and so on.

Anyways, the ideas will consist of "cool features" to make the game more fun, interesting and motivating to play. These aren't strategy boosts or nerfs, or anything referring to the coalition system, but simply as the title states, customization. (personalization, features etc.) Or things that really need to be added.

Before going through the ideas, if Pulse wishes, he can add this to the AW wish list of his. Threads like these are very useful for organizing ideas and making it simpler for the admins.


  • Idea #1 Battle phase sound effects:

    First have the battle menus simulate the battles WHILE you continue your next turn either on the top or side screen. And as the title for the idea states, have sound effects for each unit. This would be an incredibly cool feature engaging players more to the game emotionally. Games that stir emotions are always fun to play.

  • Idea #2 The option to send peace request first turn:

    Currently no option to do so. Only alliance or war. However the war one is useless because on turn 2 everybody is automatically at war.

    Additionally, I think a cool feature would be that when turn 2 starts, a message in red pops up that says "War is now upon you." or something of that sort to engage players emotionally. (similar message to: "select your home country" except of course one that states that you're no longer at peace with everyone)


  • Idea #3 Customization features:

    These can be for premiums-only or which ever way the admins want to go about it. Basically, you can change unit names, pictures and description. And add a description of yourself on your profile

  • Idea #4: Make all colors available to choose:

  • Idea #5: Remove neutral units when a player leaves or surrenders:

    It makes the map ugly and it's annoying to have to dodge all the units.

  • Idea #6: Neutral generator:

    Only have neutral countries gain 1 unit every reinforcement week instead of at random. Having it at random can cause unbalancement. This can give a disadvantage to a player's expansion and can even affect the turn out of a game. Make it a uniform thing that the neutral cities only reinforce at reinforcement week; this way players will know when.

    No, neutral units should stay, they are part of the map, the dead players legacy. If they were still alive they would have to battle the units, no? I suppose a good thing is for the ones outside of cities ti disperse, or not appear on the map after a time anywhere between 3-20 turns (randomly, by a roll system). This would be kinda realistic as well, since an army isn't going to just sit there forever without a leader. They definitely shouldn't be removed straight away though. The ones inside cities should definitely stay.

    No, no, not that. I am aware of the changes to the cw system. It's the suggestion of having past coalition list on players' profiles and a list of all the players that have been a member of a certain clan, that should be given to leaders/officers.

    Fixing the problem in 1st turn of casual games
    There's a problem in the 1st turn of casual games where the creator (and any that joined before start) get to build units. Players that join during turn 1 do not. There have been a few solutions suggested, including:
    1) A delay game start option for casual games. This would allow you to pause starting the game until all players have joined. You could leave the game while it is paused. (best solution, harder to implement)
    2) A fist turn no build/no move option (easier to implement, proposed here)

    Option to replace leavers
    Another thing you should add is an option to replace leavers.
    Been suggested here:

    and quite possibly been suggested previously as well (couldn't find any other posts though). Replacing leavers has also been commented on by Ivan as being feasible albeit difficult to implement.

    Grimm, these are mostly technical problems which I agree should be fixed or looked at. I would add them but if I did so I would have to add all other suggestions like these. I'd like to keep the list as features, customization or things that are absolutely essential.

    perhaps one day, but not anytime soon. I'm sure someone else would be willing to do it however.
