GoT Finale very underwhelming

I wasn't as impressed as the last season's endings but it was still very good, some things happened that really came out of left field for me (which was good) like the Little Finger thing and Jamie leaving.

The way the wall came down really didn't impress me (i was hoping for more magic bypassing stuff), but you have to admit it was well executed and fun to watch.

Overall this season was probably the worst one just because of all the plot holes and just unrealistic or poor planning. The books gave GoT a spine because it fleshed out so much. It's very apparent now how much of a difference they made. I just hope this doesn't influence the quality of them when/if they come out.

I'm rooting for the Night King, he just seems like a very chill guy with a plan for peace i think we can all get behind. All of his enemies become allies which is more than anyone else in the series can say.

It was'snt entertaining at all tbh. It might be my fault for reading theories yet I don't like Jon & Dany endstory. maybe i just watched got too much or maybe this season was too quick to sense anything.

I was actually disappointed by Littlefinger's death, could have done without the whole Arya Sansa feud side plot and I feel strongly that his character was leading up to something more interesting than that. He was without question one of the best players of the game, strategizing years in advance and manipulating other characters. IMO he deserved to have made it much closer to the throne than he did. I do agree that the show has suffered from a lack of written source material. The details just aren't as fleshed out and it shows in the pacing.

There were as always stand out scenes such as the R+L=J reveal, Tyrion and Cersei, Jon and Theon, snowfall in King's Landing, and of course the NK bringing the wall down. Also I really believed that Cersei had a change of heart and was going to fight alongside the good guys, guess that makes me a fool. I think it would have been a really interesting twist for her to have some redemption but I guess not.

What are your predictions for the final season? For one thing I'm hoping our characters shed some of the extremely thick plot armor they seemed to enjoy this season. It was getting to be a little too much. I imagine one of or both of the now Jon + Dany team will have to play the Jesus role and die to fend off the army of the dead. I know she's popular but I'm honestly pretty bored of Arya but I doubt she dies. Which "good" characters do you guys think will make it to the end of show?

I'm most interested in seeing how Tyrion and Jamie's stories develop as well as what I think will be the biggest question revealed in the final season: what does the NK want, what is Bran's destiny, and how are the two connected?

I wonder whether Littlefinger lost because of his actions of desperation or because unnatural forces outmatched him. on one hand there is Bran that saw his past and Jon heroism and charachter which made him realiable enough to keep his people loyal to him, On the other hand there is him trying to fool Sansa though he as well understand the chances are against him. I think it's abit underestimation to say that he was only fitted to King Landing because he has outmatched far diffrent players like Jon Arryn, Tywin Lannister and even the Boltons. that's a very solid yes indication to imply that in natural circumstances he could get what he wants from the North even if does'nt outsmart Sansa. after all they depended on his army. Although Sansa new charachter seems loyal and smart. and Littlefinger seems stuck in his position with not enough power or wild cards to get the throne, maybe at the unnear future. I guess the reason for his rush was the thought that his plan is going to hell or that he does'nt have any other options. as he said take the highest risk.

This is ultra-disappointing... it's not fun when the most commonly accepted theory turns out to be the real one :/

The theory where Dany is the kid of Lyanna and Rhaegar is much cooler.

I think that the problem is that the show has outpaced the books.

It's kind of funny. The show slow rolled so well. They shouldn't have blitzed.

Anyway, the author is long gone and the show is in the hands of Hollywood writers. I predict a lot of teen aged angst, plot holes, and side boob for the final season.
