Volvo drivers save pilot from fiery crash
A piece of incredible old news: the occupants in a Volvo XC60 helped rescue the pilot of a small plane that crashed into their car outside of a U.K. airport.

The driver and passenger in the Volvo were completely unhurt, but the pilot in the two-seat AT3 aircraft who botched his landing and crashed into the SUV had to be pulled from the plane's cabin.

The plane erupted into flames shortly after, but luckily a volunteer fire crew was already on the scene. The plane was, nevertheless, destroyed.

Car blog Jalopnik picked up on the Daily Mail story recently, but it turns out the "news" of the crash is actually two years old. We thought we'd share it anyway.

Everybody knows that Volvo cars are the safest in the world - except the pilot of this plane ...

I demand federal regulations ensuring that every car on the market can withstand having an airplane crash in to it.

Like murdered sausages can demand anything...
