The new interconnection between cities is great, but you have one big problem now: NC destroyers gives +1 capacity.


Now you have to remove them, and ww2 will become another scenario where NC is unplayable due to damm changes...

This affects what, 2 of the 19 sides in a ww2, if the mapmaker is halfway competent(which tiktok is) he'll make adjustments so this wont be an issue. Stop making a big deal about nothing.

I don't know what is more annoying... the fact that you know nothing about scenarios or the fact that you keep acting like if you knew a damm about them. Just for the record, this change affect at least 8 sides of the map. Haven't tested yet how strong would Germany be if it could bypass US trenches, but it does looks capable of capping in T3

And what njab said is exactly what Tik-tok is going to do. He'll make destroyers secondary units so they doesn't get boosted by NC.

If you know how to play all strategies on EU it doesn't mean you understand them on other map -- especially because you never play any map but EU unlike some other mods like Meester. You are trying to make us think you know something about scenarios -- sorry, you indeed don't.

On first sight I see you can play NC Naval Japan, both USAs, Brazil, Germany, Australia, maybe Siam -- basically 7 roles very playable with NC. Do you need anything more?

Most of the sides you mentioned range from average to crap with that strat. The only real issue is the trench bypass, come up with a few workarounds and propose them to amok when the new map editor is done and stop being a bunch of drama queens.

Why should an interesting change to the strat be reversed just because it breaks the mechanics of the few maps that contain trench systems.

I actually agree that the change is indeed, interesting and I like the possibilities that it offer in terms of maneuvers for maps such as the default map. If I had to choose though, I would rather see this change go than watching NC becoming unplayable in scenarios. That damages diversity and makes the game more centered around the default map than other maps.

Don't lie to yourself, if admins had elected the default map as important they would had removed custom maps when Dalmati made their retirement thread.

I will PM Amok to see what can be done.

That 1 screenshot shows a different ww2 than the one i played over a year ago. In that one you killed uk then fended off the usa and russia.

regardless nc germany still sucks and my point still stands. Rather than having the nc change reversed you can instead push for mapmakers to have more control over their creations with negative capacities/ranges(blitz forts/bunkers) and custom strats rather than removing an interesting change that maps without trench systems can enjoy. A better use of your time than making overdramatic claims about the effect of this change on maps.

The default map and its' units was the map atwar was built around, it is THE original map where the strats have been and still are altered. The map is obviously pretty important and the admins obviously agree.

After months of hard work, atWar is finally open to everyone. We have said our goodbyes to Afterwind, and are now looking steadily into the future. Some of the players are rather overly-nostalgic - but this is always unavoidable, unless we decide to halt all progress on the game. Personally, we are rather pleased with the result and are really excited about all the custom maps and scenarios popping up.


Sadly for you, admins chosen the diversity over the monotony long ago. I'm afraid that you and other people still lives in Afterwind world and can't see how awesome the game has become. Custom Maps and Scenarios aren't less important than the default map. But hey, I'm not admin so don't take my word and just watch the future of the game.

Let's just wait and see what they do. Nothing that we talk here will change anything anyway.
