So, we finally got to make a small update in the game. #1 priority item is locking game settings. At the same time we can also implement a few other small changes - things that will take less than 2 hours. Not really sure how easy this'd be, but please add more starting cash options, in intervals of 1000 or even 500 if you feel like it. There'd be a lot of new possibilities for normal atWar, but it'd be even better for custom maps like Ancient World.

(Also, I completely agree with TopHat's suggestion #2 down there. The randomness of neutral reinfs can really screw things up for one player or team. You know that feeling when you're Turkey, and first turn Bucharest has 7, Sofia has 5, Athens has 9, stuff like that?

I don't know how difficult the following is to implement. But here it goes.

1) remove units when an enemy dies. (they become neutral units) gets really annoying.
2) The game's neutral unit generator for cities is pretty random, it can often make it unfair for a player at times. (for example: Paris has 8 neutral infantry normally, but sometimes it changes to 9 first turn. This can affect one's expansion. It can also cost battles too. We have to attack those cities with a little more power just in case it does change.) I suggest that neutral cities should be reinforced with 1 unit on the reinforcement turn, just like player cities. So that players can preempt it and this would also make it equal for everyone.

3) Add different sounds effects for each unit in the battle phase. (I know most just skip the battles, but this could add a "cool" element to the game. For example, a bomber attacking would sound like a bomber dropping bombs, tanks would sound like tanks, helicopters (propellers) etc..

Let us select our favorite color in our profile.
Here is a good Js code for that, where you can choose colors from predefined colors (so that noone abuses it ) http://andreaslagerkvist.com/jquery/colour-picker/#jquery-plugin-example or http://www.laktek.com/2008/10/27/really-simple-color-picker-in-jquery/

In game it automatically takes that color and if the users favorite color is already taken, then it will be like now, that the user gets the first available color.

This is a very small one I guess: reduce the movement range nerf on Iron Fist strategy from -3 to -2 just like every other unit (see status). This change was firstly made to balance the strategy, but after that it also got a hp nerf.

dont implement suggestion 1, in teamgames a player who dies can influence a game by stacking important countries to slow the victor down. this is a great strategical feature. points 2 and 3 tho are cool

Allows us to give negative range to units in custom maps. That way we can have real unmovable units. (Currently one has to make them naval units with 0 range, in order to stop blitz players from moving them).

I don't like this idea that much. I kind of like the randomness of the current system. Kind of forces you to play slightly different each time and keeps you on your toes so you aren't just a robot going through the motions.

What do you mean by 'improvisation is very insignificant' If you are Turkey and Romania gets a bonus neutral unit added and you end up not taking it, You obviously have to improvise to not only take Romania, but also change up your moves since you cannot use Romania reinforcements to do what you would normally do with it.

What do you mean by 'improvisation is very insignificant' If you are Turkey and Romania gets a bonus neutral unit added and you end up not taking it, You obviously have to improvise to not only take Romania, but also change up your moves since you cannot use Romania reinforcements to do what you would normally do with it.


Literally 100% of the time that romania has 7 militia or 8 even, i will attack it. -.-

1) Unfair on a per-match basis perhaps, but the law of averages comes into play overall here and it balances out when you look at a large group of matches.

2) (Insert Fock Argument Here)

3) I don't see how that would occur. For the first week maybe? But it will take no time for the vast majority of players to have the pattern of additional 1 unit per rein week down and everyone's play will adapt to that change permanently. It won't do anything to prevent a "going through the motions" play-style in the big picture.

Make chat tabbed like most online games not a drop down multi select menu. Your chats would remain that way to a greater extent.

Make custom maps/scenarios playable to rank 5s and above only. and maybe premium players

Pros:
- Encourages new players to play more to reach the level where they get to try out the flashy custom maps
- Forces new players to learn basic aw skills and use of strats on the default map where these things matter.
- Prevents the issue this 9 day old rank 5 player has seen which the rest of us have realised as a problem for a long time. http://atwar-game.com/forum/topic.php?topic_id=13927
- encourages premium purchases so more profit.

What tophats said ...does funny moments when you pick germany in 1v1 and norway has 5, sweden has 5, austria has 7, croatia 3 and czech 5 ....true story -__-

last time in my game it was 8 in austria 5 in sweden 5 in norway 4 in denmark and 4 in czech 3 in NL 3 in swiss it ruined my expansion -_-

while community might not be fully on board, i go for +1 mov on IF for militia [ i would like to be able to wall with militia cheaply ]

and if possible kill the regent or general game option for elimination
