Does the ideology stem from the left or the right?

I think it has to do with semantics really, its easier to just call fascism far right nowdays, i do it myself.

But if we want to be precise and technically correct then fascism is LEFT.

Meh, I would have to say right leaning simply because it voices a rather nationalist message. Fascist leaders and fascist governments tend to be concerned with "the people" and "the nation." Left-leaning populist tend to be more associated with "the people" in regards to workers and anyone who is not part of the rich or the elite. There are similarities between left and right wing views- especially populist campaigns. This is why a generic left-right spectrum isn't th best but rather an x/y axis where you can still have left and right, but also autocracy at the top, and anarchy on the bottom (denoting if a belief is more authoritarian or anarchic). Populist leaders from both left and right tend to be more authoritarian whether it be redistributing wealth for "the people" or deregulating industry and big business to promulgate growth for "the nation." Fascism inherently is right wing- it is an extreme nationalist ideology. But it has the authoritarian streak like left ing ideologies wherein the government has large controls over different sections of the country and economy.

To me it is a populist message because it contains both right and left leaning philosophies...

^^^^, right and left wing is for economics, fascism is highly authoritarian and nationalists so itll be "far top" economically, it's basically influenced by its nationalist ideology and has protectionist trade policies and that sort of thing.

It's a third position beyond the left and right spectrum. It acknowledges the issues that the common man faces in a modern society - but fixes such issues in a realistic and coherent manner instead of just stealing from the Rich.

It can get a bit confusing because it requires a large government- a policy typical of left wing ideologies. And with the terms right and left evolving in todays world, it gets even more confusing pinning them down on a typical left-right spectrum. Just look at the recent French elections where the far right candidate was Marine Le Pen of the National Front. It's classified as far right but economically it is very protectionist- a policy many populist take up that stems from left wing ideology (not classical liberalism)

Any politics option today became fascism, especially the left one. Zzz

This is why we need down votes.

It's all confusing. Communism says it wants to abolish state and free market, Fascism says it wants to empower state and control the market, but: all communist countries didn't abolish the state and all fascist countries had leftist social policies, China returned to free market and Third Reich abolished it.

If you ask me, Kazakism (cossackism) is the best; white, brown, yellow, doesn't matter, as long you're christian, ride horse and have a home in the steppe. Let those fancy city boys debate about ideologies, if some of them come to you asking for taxes or votes, shoot them with your bow, or rifle if you are kazak rookie.
